Directions
Once in Nelson, proceed through town following signs for Highway 3A to Balfour. This will take you along Nelson Avenue approaching the Orange Bridge (“BOB” to locals) over Kootenay Lake. Two blocks before the bridge you will see a Husky service station on the right. The street before the Husky station is called Elwyn. Take a right on Elwyn and continue straight up the hill past the 10th street Selkirk College campus until Elwyn turns into a dirt road. The dirt road flattens out at the Burlington Northern bike trail where you reach a T intersection; keep left.
Svaboda Road is a narrow mountain road that snakes up the hillside above Nelson for a further 2 kilometers. Use caution as the road is one lane wide in sections and you may have to pull to the side if you encounter traffic from the other direction.
Passing the second park boundary sign post, continue past some new development activity along Svaboda road, look for the prominent Mountain Waters sign at the second left hand driveway off Svaboda road.
